Oh Fall...... It's finally October : )

Ahhh the crisp air, decent temps and fall colors. Thoughts of pumpkins, and apple spice.

*shrech of film reel (just like old cartoons lol)* Those aren't fall colors!!! It's green everywhere. No reds, oranges, yellows. What is going on????

At 6:30 this morning is was 80F and 94% humidity! The lovely weather woman upgraded the humidity to "Soupy" from "Muggy" sigh, this isn't looking good.

She was happy to tell everyone that it will be a high of 92F with 94% humidity pretty much all day long. With heat index feeling like 100-110F! IN OCTOBER????? And it will be like this thru Friday at least.

*Leafing thru notes* Aha according to this 1st day of fall was .... September 22nd, 2009. Sooo that means today (Oct 6th) is the 14th day of Fall. There has got be a mistake. Most of the country is def in the Fall, and having cool temps that involve turning on furnaces and heat. My a/c hasn't been off yet nor have the floor fans. Hmmmmm.

*Leafing thru more paperwork* I just know I have Mother Nature's phone number around here somewhere. Aha here it is:

Me: Hi Mother Nature :) Quick question. You do realize that it's fall already right??
MN: *insert peanut's teacher's voice*.
Me: Yes I know most of the country says it's fall, but here in Houston, TX its going to be 90 today with lots and lots of humidity.

MN: *insert louder Peanut's teacher's voice*
Me: Yes you are right, we did request no hurricanes this year.
MN:*insert Peanut's teacher's voice*
Me: Yes hurricane Ike last year was most impressive, def ranking up there as one of the awesomest hurricanes (starting to get worried here)
MN:*insert Peanut's teacher's voice*
Me: No you are quite correct 90F in October is just fine, no problem, No no do not need repeat of last year's hurricane.
MN:*insert Peanut's teacher's voice* and loud slam of phone.
Well that went well didn't it LOL.

Oh well, nothing like driving around with no a/c, my poor car is ahem bit old and cranky, but hey it's paid for lol.

So I thought I would share some of the pics I took this morning of the girls on their walk. Did you notice that Nanuchy not once looked back on me lol. She is on a mission and checking in with Mama is not on the agenda.

Sonja on the other hand does check in occasionally lol. Since Nanuchy hardly can hear or see, when I'm talking to Sonja is no longer reacts lol (unless I whistle). She still loves going on her walks and does it with enthusiasm 3 times a day :)

I even got a 2 min video of them. Excuse my squeaky voice lol it's the best way to communicate with the girls. At least no cars came barreling towards us on this part of the walk. Which in this area is not the norm lol.

So how's your fall going??? :)

Thanks Sue. As you know Nanuchy is bossy and has a mind of her own thankyouverymuch LOL.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Terri, yes exactly LOL. Nanuchy and I have always butted heads since she wants to be in charge LOL.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Kathy. You are totally right. Most people don't believe she's blind and deaf unless they are upclose and she doesn't react to them.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Madeleine. LOL thought you might get a kick out of that. Hugs!

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I loved it and the video.

So far Fall is pleasant except for the morning when it is in the 40s.

We loved all the pictures but especially liked the video.
It is strange when you have been looking at pictures and then suddenly the dogs come to life!
We also liked that you walk along talking to your girls - our mum does that too and we reckon it is only a matter of time before they take her away!!!
love you lots

It's been warm here for us, too -- in the 70s most days. We haven't even had our first frost!! Keep in mind, I'm only a few hours from the Canadian border, so it should be a lot colder than it is.

But, I'm not complaining.

Dogs always look so happy when they're walking, don't they?

Hilarous dialogue! What a great post. Please tell mother nature that I have been waiting 8 months to wear sweaters again here in Arizona. Please rush the opportunity to do so. Dearest Anne-Kathrine I would really love to see a picture of Fred in his hot dog outfit. That might beat all the pictures I have listed.

Mommy was just saying the same thing. It's supposed to be fall yet it's like the peak of summer in Houston. We don't like it.

Our Momster talks to us on walks too and worries what others think about that. You guys did a great job on your walk.

Our fall is just starting to color out. We have been having very cool nights which really helps with the color. But we don't get anywhere near the brilliant colors of New England.

Woos, the OP Pack

Hi Anne,

Well choosing between humidity and hurricane, which both starts with the letter "H" I prefer to sweat all day rather than wet all day. Hey it rhymes hahaha.

BTW I thank you Anne, for your visits and comments. Your prayers for my Dad's recovery, the flood and typhoon were all answered and glad we are all okay.

Thanks Dru, I love sharing my girls and had a bit of fun with this post lol.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Marianna. It really has been a very weird year for summer and now fall. Summer heat started way early and looks like it's lingering lol.

Thanks Mack, I know it's unreal lol. It feels like late aug not oct! Im so excited the weekend should be wonderful!

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Kasha. I really had fun with this post. And even suprised myself lol.

I was looking for a pic of Fred but believe it was one of the folders that dissappeared a couple of years ago.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks OP pack, so happy to hear Im not the only one having conversations lol. I even toned it down for the video LOL.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Euri. I know even for Houston it's hot and humid. We almost broke the record yesterday again. It went up to 93 and the record is 95!

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Brandy. I did have fun with this post. I didn't want to whine and go on so found a fun way of dealing with the weather lol.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Al, yes def humidity over hurricans for sure.

You deserve all the prayers you got. You are a good person and do so much for your community!

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Dory. LOL you are right, not that we have had that much rain so far but better than the drought we were having :)

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Khyra, that's what I thought. I think of oct as being fall and halloween. I know you had great time outside surveilling your yardkingdom :)

We think that Mother nature is currently consentrating on our Southern hemisphere since we are having absolutely stunning weather here in JHB. We'll put in a good word and maybe, just maybe, you will get your cooler weather soon.

Do you do any consulting? Cause I need you to talk to mother nature for me too... she got confused in our area too.

I LOVE the video! I would NEVER know that Nanuchy was a senior - she looks great!

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Maxdog lol. I know Im not trying to tempt fate lol. It was fun checking out your blog, love all the pics. The ones of the wild animals brought back a lot of great memories.

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Brownie lol. Yep Nanuchy is actually doing pretty good considering she will be 14 in a couple of weeks, almost completely blind and deaf, has a heart murmure and is in kidney failure. She's a tough little dog lol.

Melissa McClone said...

Great post! Thanks for the smile.

I refuse to believe Fall is here yet in spite of the pumpkin and bat light decorating the front of my house and the glowing pumpkin in the window!

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Melissa. LOL it sure doesn't feel like fall at all here LOL.

Mango said...

That is way too hot. Good thing you know how to walk slowly so that you don't totally pass out.

That Gucci sure has a looooong leash.

Slobbers,
Mango

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Mango. I know it is totally ridiculous even for Houston!

LOL Yep Gucci is def in charge and extremely independent! I normally don't let her get that far ahead but well only so many hands left LOL.

Tobi said...

Ah, so you are a fellow Texan and therefore familiar with this awful humidity. Your pooches look great despite the fact that you could cut the air with a knife!

Anne-Kathrine said...

Thanks Tobi. It has been unreal. I've been in Houston since 1995 and still can't get used to the humidity lol.
