This is Czarina. She is a female Russian tortoise. I decided she needed a regal name lol. I think she is 3-5 yrs old, will get confirmation from my reptile vet when she goes in for a visit. I haven't measured her yet but think she is around 4 inches from head to tail across the shell not counting head and tail. She might grown another couple of inches. She didn't come from the best situation. She is in need of some really good food and TLC. Overall she looks pretty good considering her beginning in life. I hadn't planned on adding her to my family but you know how things work out lol.
Tobie, my Leopard tortoise, was growing by leaps and bounds and due to personal financial reasons I wasn't able to keep him. He would end up between 30 and 50 lbs in the next few years and there is no way I would be able to move into a house in that time period for him to have the right place to grow.
I was able to return him to the place I got him from. Char is a great person and got him from an excellent breeder. Tobie will be able to find a wonderful home or Char will keep him herself. She is very picky to whom she adopts out her tortoises lol.
Today I get to pick up my parents' dog Pomponnette from the vet clinic she is boarding at. It seems she has been booted out since she keeps howling and upsetting the other dogs lol. So my sis and I are going to switch off taking care of her. What is one more dog right now right LOL.
This is where the girls hang out when I'm not home. Crated or better known as Jail Cell A, B, & C LOL. Nanuchy is in the left, Sonja in the center, and Pompom on the right. They each get a kong with peanut butter and a cookie in each. Makes the stay nicer don't you think. If they didn't bark and Sonja didn't try to eat my couch they would be loose lol. My 2 cats Patches & Pirata, get to be free in the apt since they don't bark or destroy furniture lol.
Sorry the quality of this pic is so bad, but I took it with my camera phone one night while lying in bed. There you see Pirata (left), Nanuchy (center), and Patches (right) sleeping together. No dog is allowed on the bed with Nanuchy, but she doesn't mind the cats, go figure lol.
So that is the latest from my little zoo. There have been a lot of changes lately but I hope things settle down now.
